Home to Coast Salish peoples since time immemorial, Orcas Island 's natural topography has dramatic sea-to-mountain and fjord vistas, everywhere! Those who call Orcas home cherish this island. Earth Day Orcas celebrates a love of place, takes a look at the environmental challenges we face, and provides paths of hope, healing and empowerment to honor our home planet.
Our Earth Day Celebration along the waterfront of Eastsound started three years ago and has grown to include a parade, eco fair, community dance, and is now a FULL MONTH of enriching and thought-provoking activities. A local community team is now managing the programming for the month-long celebration and we have activities for all ages.
